Motorcycling NSW Limited (MNSW), the State Sporting Organisation and Not-for-Profit entity for motorcycle racing and recreation, is seeking two (2) highly qualified and dynamic individuals to join our organisation as a Non-Executive Director.

About Motorcycling NSW Limited: As the official State Sporting Organisation, we are responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, promotion, and regulation of motorcycle activities throughout NSW & the ACT. Operating as a Not-for-Profit entity, our primary objective is to support and nurture the growth of motorcycling through our extensive club network, ensuring a positive, safe and enjoyable environment.
Role Overview: As a Non-Executive Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and governance of MNSW. Collaborating with fellow directors, government bodies, and the wider motorcycling community, you will actively contribute to driving positive change and enhancing the sport’s growth and sustainability throughout NSW & the ACT. You will also have the opportunity to participate on Board subcommittees, where you can effect organisational change in a meaningful way.
Responsibilities:
- Have a strong understanding of the requirements of the Corporations Act 2001 and Directors’ duties, including the financial competence required to operate effectively as a Board member.
- Work closely with the Board and senior management to implement MNSW’s strategic goals and objectives.
- Engage in effective advocacy to represent the interests of MNSW in discussions with stakeholders.
- Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Motorcycling Australia other State Controlling bodies, affiliated clubs, life members, club delegates, industry partners, and relevant community organisations.
- Actively participate in board meetings, offering valuable insights and contributing to decision-making processes.
- Be expected to make contributions to one or more subcommittees of the Board.
- Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and safety within the motorcycling community.
- Ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation.

Desired qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders effectively.
- Proven track record in government engagement and advocacy, with an understanding of government structures and decision-making processes.
- Expertise in sports law, governance, or related fields is highly desired.
- Passion for motorcycling and a deep commitment to the development and growth of the sport.
- Qualifications from the AICD or Governance Institute are welcomed, and previous not-for-profit Board experience is preferred.
Notwithstanding the desire to attract candidates with these skills, the Board reserves the right to make appointments for candidates who bring diverse skills that complement those of the Board.

Salary: Voluntary (expenses are covered where required).
