There are a few different ways to get started depending on your age & discipline you would like to get involved with.
Kids – aged 4-6
Can only participate in Recreational activities.
Recreational activities– allow you to participate in Non-Competitive events. i.e. Practice Days, Trail Rides, Coaching and demo classes at competition events.
How do I get involved?
Step 1: Find a local club near you
Step 2: Purchase a ‘Mini’ licence through Ridernet
Step 3: Contact your club for upcoming recreational activities and coaching opportunities!
Juniors – aged 7-16
Recreational activities – Practice Days, Trail Rides, Coaching.
Competitive activities – National, State, Club and Open events.
How do I get involved in Recreational Riding?
Step 1: Locate your local club and organise to attend a Kick Start Day
Step 2: Attend the Kick Start Day or Coaching Day and complete 5 hours of coaching. The Coach will complete Assessment 1 on pages 24-25, you will complete Assessment 2 which can be found on pages 26-28 of the Kick Start Booklet.
Step 3: Find & join a local club near you
Step 4: Purchase a ‘Mini’ licence through Ridernet
How do I get involved in Competition Riding?
Step 1: Locate your local club and organise to attend a Kick Start Day
Step 2: Attend the Kick Start Day or Coaching Day and complete 5 hours of coaching. The Coach will complete Assessment 1 on pages 24-25, you will complete Assessment 2 which can be found on pages 26-28 of the Kick Start Booklet.
Step 3: Find & join a local club near you
Step 4: Purchase a ‘Junior National’ or ‘Junior Restricted’ licence through Ridernet; do supply your proof of ID as well. More information on the type of licence you require can be found on Ridernet
Step 5: Upload pages 24-25 of your Kickstart book to the endorsements tab on your profile on RiderNet

Step 2: Obtain a ‘Senior National’ or ‘Senior Restricted’ licence through Ridernet. During this process, you will be required to provide proof of practical, complete the senior theory test and payment; do supply your proof of ID as well
