Club Coach Accreditation
The Club Coach course is the entry point into motorcycle sport coaching. It equips new coaches with essential skills to support junior and senior riders at the club level.
Who It’s For
- Beginner coaches
- Parents coaching junior riders
- Club members assisting with coaching programs
What a Club Coach Can Do
- Conduct Kickstart competency assessments
- Coach & assess junior riders for first‑time licences and endorsements
- Coach & assess senior riders for first‑time licences and discipline endorsements
- Supervise structured club coaching days
- Assist Level 1 and Level 2 coaches
To begin your coaching journey, you must:
- Be 16 years or older
- Hold a current Working With Children Check (required for 18+)
- Must complete the L1 Operational Official Course online in the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre
- Complete the Motorcycling Australia’s Level 0 Club Coach Course online in the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre
- Must complete the SportAus Community Coaching General Principles online course online in the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre
- Must complete the Safeguarding Children and Young People in Sport Induction online in the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre
- Must complete the PBTR – Harassment and Discrimination online in the Motorcycling Australia Learning Centre
- Complete the SportAus Community Coaching General Principles online course
- Must have a current valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
Club Coach – Application Requirements
Eligibility
- Minimum age: 16
- Physically capable of coaching duties
- Member of an MA‑affiliated club
- Demonstrated riding knowledge or competency
- Have completed all online learning components

Club Coach – Renewal (Every 4 Years)
To renew your accreditation:
- Be assessed and signed off as competent in delivery of the Kickstart program by a L1 or L2 coach during the term of accreditation
- Complete all sections of the Club Coach Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation renewal application form Club Coach Coaching Accreditation Renewal-Upgrade Form.pdf
- Hold a current Working With Children Check (required for 18+)
- Must have a current valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Submit your completed documents to learn@motorcycling.com.au
Coach – Level 1
The Level 1 Coach builds on Club Coach accreditation and focuses on rider development for club, regional, and state competition.
What a Level 1 Coach Can Do
- Deliver Kickstart assessments
- Coach & assess junior and senior riders
- Provide advanced rider development coaching
- Apply for Coaching Permits to run independent coaching schools
- Supervise and manage other coaches
Prerequisites
- Minimum age: 18
- Must hold a current Working With Children Check
- Must have a current valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.
- Must have a current Club Coach accreditation
- Must show proof of having conducted a minimum of 10 Kickstart and/or Senior licence assessments under a coaching permit.
- While acting as a Club Coach, must achieve a satisfactory review for coaching competency, by a L1 or L2 Coach
- Log 16 hours of development coaching while assisting an L1 or L2 Coach under an MA coaching permit
Application & Renewal – (Renewal Every 4 Years)
- Complete the Level 1 Coaching Application & Renewal Form
- Be assessed and signed off as competent in the delivery of development coaching by a L1 or L2 Coach during the term of your accreditation
- Must hold a current Working With Children Check
- Must have a current/valid First Aid/CPR Certificate.

Coach – Level 2
Level 2 accreditation is administered by Motorcycling Australia and prepares coaches for high‑performance and elite athlete development.
Who It’s For
- Level 1 coaches
- Professional coaches working with elite riders
- Coaches involved in national or international competition
What a Level 2 Coach Can Do
- Conduct all levels of competency assessments and endorsements
- Deliver advanced rider development
- Run independent coaching schools
- Manage structured coaching days
- Plan and deliver elite athlete training camps
- Supervise coaches across all levels
