Prerequisites
- Be 16 years or older
- Obtain or have a current Working with Children Check (18 years old and over)
- Complete the online Australian Sports Commission Community Coaching General Principles program.
- Complete Motorcycling Australia’s Club Coaching Course
- Have at least 2 years practical experience in motorcycle competition as a competitor or official and have sound knowledge of motorcycling riding skills

Club Coach
The Club Coach course is an introductory course designed to equip coaches with basic useable coaching knowledge and skills. The course is particularly aimed at:
- Beginner coaches, working in introductory programs like Kickstart at the club level
- Parents and those persons wishing to coach junior riders
- People who wish to help out at their Club as a coach
A Club Coach can:
- Conduct basic coaching for riders to complete their Kick Start competency assessments
- Coach and assess junior riders for first time licence testing and/or endorsements under the MA Junior Coaching Program
- Coach and assess senior riders for first time licence testing and/or discipline specific endorsements
- Supervise structured club coaching days and assist Level 1 and 2 coaches
- Refer to the MA Coaching guidelines for Coach/rider ratios
Application Process
The following are the pre-requisites* that must be achieved before a candidate may apply for “Club Coach” accreditation:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Be medically and physically capable of undertaking the work required as a coach (subjective assessment by Practical Seminar presenter)
- Provide proven association and/or membership with an MA affiliated club
- Provide proven understanding of motorcycle riding skills and techniques in motorcycle sport and/or provide proof of personal riding competency.
Online training requisites:
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the MA Ridernet Club Coach Sport Specific online training course
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning SportAus Community Coaching General Principles course.
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Child Safeguarding in Sport Induction.
- Provide proof of the successful completion of the e-Learning Sport Integrity Australia Coaches Course.
Practical Training requisites:
Attend an SCB provided 1-day Club Coach Sport Specific practical training course and successfully complete all assessment components.
Documentation requisites:
- Must hold a current “Provide First Aid/CPR” Certificate.
- Must hold current WWCC card and comply with WWCC legislation
- Must agree to and be prepared to comply with and implement the minimum standards of the MA Coaches Code of Behaviour
OR
Complete all sections of the Club Coach Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation application form and submit copies of all completed pages to your SCB
*Claims for Recognition of Prior Learning may be submitted and will be reviewed on a “case by case” basis.
Renewal
- Accreditation lasts 4 years and to renew accreditation, the following is required:
- Be assessed and signed off as competent in delivery of the Kickstart program by a L1 or L2 coach during the term of accreditation
- Name and signature on the – Coach’s Code of Ethics Agreement Form
- Name and signature on the – Licence / Membership Applicant Declaration
- Attach proof of having the appropriate WWCC for your state
OR
Complete all sections of the Club Coach Motorcycle Sport Coaching Accreditation renewal application form and submit copies of all completed pages to your SCB
Coach – Level 1
The Level 1 course is the second level course designed to equip coaches with rider development coaching knowledge and skills. The course is particularly aimed at:
· Accredited Club Coaches and aspiring semi-professional coaches, intending to work with athlete development in
motorcycle sport for club, regional and state competition
A Level 1 Coach can:
- Conduct basic coaching for riders to complete their Kick Start competency assessments
- Coach and assess junior riders for first-time licence testing and/or endorsements under the MA Junior Coaching Program
- Coach and assess senior riders for first-time licence testing and/or discipline-specific endorsements
- Provide advanced rider skill development coaching
- Apply for a Coaching Permit to conduct independent coaching schools
- Supervise structured club coaching days and assist/manage other level coaches
- Refer to the MA Coaching guidelines for Coach/rider ratios
Prerequisites
- Be 18 years or older
- Current Working with Children Check (18 years old and over)
- Hold a current club coach accreditation
- Log 20 hours of practical motorcycling coaching within 12 months of completing the Motorcycle NSW Sport Coaching Course

Coach – Level 2
Level 2 Coaching Accreditation is administered by Motorcycling Australia and conducted through an intermediate course designed to extend the Level 1 coach’s ability to confidently and safely coach.
The course is aimed at:
The Level 1 coach and the professional coach seeking to coach at high performance levels and intending to work with elite athlete development in motorcycle sport for national and international competition
A Level 2 Motorcycle Sport Coach can:
- Conduct coaching for all levels of competency assessments, endorsements, and MA licences
- Provide advanced skill, rider development coaching
- Apply for Coaching Permits to conduct independent coaching schools
- Provide management/supervision for structured coaching days
- Provide planning, structure and management for elite athlete training camps
- Utilize/manage other level coaches
- Refer to the MA Coaching guidelines for Coach/rider ratios
