Enduro is a form of motorcycle sport run on extended cross-country, off-road courses.
Enduro events usually consist of tracks or ‘trails’ through open cross-country or bushland where riders must navigate many natural obstacles and challenges, including creek crossings and tree stumps.
The main type of enduro event is a time-card enduro, whereby riders depart at intervals over one, or a number of stages and compete in a time trial against the clock.
In its ‘purest’ form, Enduro riding is an extremely popular form of social riding. With fire trails and bushland open to road-registered motorcycles, anyone can take part in enduro-style trail riding at any time, without the need to enter an event at a dedicated facility – or even trailer their motorcycle to the track – meaning sales of this type of motorcycle are substantial.
Enduro caters for beginners through to the very elite. Whether its riding as a race competitor, for recreation or participation as volunteer, official or spectator there is a place in the Enduro community for everyone.
