Scheduled to host round 1 on Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16, the club has hosted two State Titles events over the last five years, while also continuing to host an eclectic range of Open events between then and now.
A Rich History
Ever since its inception back in 1976, Lake Macquarie Motor Bike Club has been home to many champion riders including the likes of Chad Reed and Craig Anderson, both of whom have been life members of the club as well. Over the last few decades, the venue has hosted major events like East Coast MX, Summer X, Lakes Memorial Weekend, as well as hosting visiting clubs with their series events.
Unsurprisingly enough, the club notched up two major awards at the 2023 Motorcycling NSW Awards night, taking home the Club of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year. This was preceded in 2022 when the club’s very own Carlie Roberts was named Volunteer of the Year as well as Administrator of the Year at that year’s Motorcycling NSW Awards.
An Upgraded Track & Local Talent to Watch Out For
True to its consistent and successful efforts in providing the best experience for riders and the broader motorcycling community every year, Lake Macquarie Motor Bike Club has undertaken refurbishment over the last year and a half which includes an upgraded track, sign-on, as well as medical facilities. At the upcoming opening round of the MX State Titles, the venue also looks forward to serving its attendees with a canteen that will remain open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with barista-made coffee and a slushie machine.
An attractively challenging track awaits us all this time round, with 40 gates and 1.6km of natural terrain which is sure to suit a wide range of riders across levels and age groups, from beginners to pros.
There’s no shortage of local talent in the region, with the likes of Seth Thomas, Drew Kremer, Nate Ebbeck, Tyson Williams, Archie Black, and Bella Arnott all set to make their presence felt.
Hear from the Club
For our riders, competing on home soil is an invaluable experience—one that inspires young talent and fuels the passion for motocross in our region. These talented athletes represent the future of our sport, and we can’t wait to see them give it their all on race day. Beyond the track, this event brings significant benefits to the Lake Macquarie community, boosting tourism, supporting local businesses, and bringing people together through a shared love of motocross. We are incredibly grateful to Motorcycling NSW, our dedicated volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who make this event possible. We look forward to an unforgettable weekend of racing and encourage everyone to come along, support our riders, and be part of the action at Lake Macquarie MBC!”
