Dear members,
On Monday March 30, Motorcycling Australia released a statement that due to the rapidly changing environment and increasing government restrictions around COVID-19, as of April 1 no further events would take place and license sales would be suspended until further notice.
All state controlling bodies and MA are putting in place plans to ensure business continuity during this period of inactivity. We will be taking this opportunity to work with our clubs and members and promoters to work on strategies for when we start up again. The MNSW Board will also be providing you with frequent updates on this important work.
Once we better understand the duration of this period of inactivity and discussions regarding extensions of licenses with MA have been finalised, we will advise you with further updates on how this is to be managed on a national level.
All current license endorsements and accreditations will be unaffected should your licenses expire during this period. Registered NSW riding numbers will also be frozen during this period so when we return to racing everything will be as it was when the MA announcement was made.
This situation is unprecedented, with changes not only to the sport but to our everyday lives. We ask that you are patient and keep up to date with developments in the sport, and the governments advice to ensure the safety of you and your families.
The MNSW office will continue to work during this downtime, alongside MA and the other State Controlling Bodies, to ensure that motorcycle activities can recommence as soon as possible and together with the clubs and members, we can rebuild our sport. Our main priority is our clubs and members and we will continue to communicate with the clubs during this time to make sure that every one of them makes it through this uncertain period.
Together we will come out the other side stronger.
