Motorcycling NSW is pleased to announce that Registered Training Organisation, Stay Upright, have come on board as our Official Learn to Ride Partner in 2023.
The pioneer of motorcycle rider training in Australia, Stay Upright has been at the forefront of motorcycle safety for over 40 years. Formed in 1981 by Warwick Schuberg, the ex-Head of the NSW Police Rider Training Unit, Stay Upright was the first company in Australia to offer rider training to the general public. Today, Stay Upright operates learner/licensing training and advanced training in NSW, Victoria, Queensland and the ACT. They are staffed by a dedicated and professional team of instructors, managers and administrators, currently training 34,000 customers per year in NSW and the ACT alone.
The inclusion of Stay Upright within our Motorcycling NSW Partnership network allows us to focus our attention on increasing and improving the road race participation pipeline within NSW and the ACT, along with, providing exposure of race, riding and recreational opportunities within our sport to a new audience of road bike users.
On this new partnership, Motorcycling NSW CEO, Daniel Rushworth, “Having a learn to ride partner such as Stay Upright partner with MNSW is key priority of our organisation and aligns within our strategy to have more people on more bikes more often. The sheer volume of riders completing their learn to ride programs creates direct and beneficial links that will provide new members to our vast club network. Rider training is an essential step for many within our current and prospective community where they can obtain the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding to then go on and enjoy all that we have to offer. We are very excited about the significant opportunities this partnership will provide and how it will link to our community”.
Stay Upright RTO Manager, Simon McAdie, echoed this enthusiasm surrounding this new partnership, adding that “Stay Upright is a portal into the world of motorcycling and MNSW can help our customers to continue their journey on two wheels ”.
