Motorcycling NSW is calling for nominations from youth within our community for its newly developed Youth Advisory Council.
The Motorcycling NSW Youth Advisory Council (YAC) has been created by Motorcycling NSW to ensure Motorcycling NSW is member-focused and prioritises youth inclusion and participation throughout its strategy and operation. It is designed so that the Motorcycling NSW Board and Management are able to receive direct input from youth on issues of importance to them relating to Motorcycling in the most interactive and effective way possible.
The YAC gives young people the opportunity for growth and personal development, whilst gaining an insight into Motorcycling NSW. It is also a way for Motorcycling NSW to ensure that young people can participate in discussions and decisions that affect them, are taken seriously, and can express their views on their participation in our sport.
What is it?
The Youth Advisory Council is an avenue in providing the largest part of our community – our youth, with a voice in both the strategic and participation development of our sport. As we now plan and develop to our next strategic cycle it’s imperative that we engage with this demographic to ensure that the sport and its plans are built for those that we see in our future.
How to get involved?
Youth Members aged 14-21 years will be invited to apply for a position on the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) via the Motorcycling NSW website. At the end of the application timeline, Motorcycling NSW Board & Management will review all applications received and advise successful applicants of their selection. Applicants are encouraged to review the eligibility criteria outlined in this document, as well as the “Qualities of a YAC Member”, prior to submitting their application. The selection of Members for the YAC is at the discretion of Motorcycling NSW Board & management and any decisions made will be final.
We embrace differences in gender, age, ethnicity, race, cultural background, disability, religion and sexual orientation. We value diversity and understand how it assists in attracting, recruiting and retaining our members.
