Fans, spectators, riders and their families could not have asked for a better start to their Motocross season at the opening round of this year’s NSW Motocross State Titles. Hosted last weekend by Lake Macquarie Motor Bike Club, the event featured an eclectic mix of amateur, pro and veteran riders who headed down to the newly refurbished track under spectacular weather conditions.
The fifteen riding classes drew riders from across the state as well as from Queensland, Victoria and the ACT, alongside a bustling crowd of parents, coaches, local fans and more who gathered in thousands. While the level of competition and close finishes were remarkable across both days, an equal split of prize money across male and female riding classes made the event all the more high-spirited.
For those who could not make it down to Lake Macquarie Motor Bike Club for the opening round, Motorcycling NSW live-streamed the event via their partner Sideline Sport – a first-of-its kind groundbreaking feature for our community.
