It’s nearly off-road season here in NSW, and the opening round of this year’s Finance My Bike NSW Off-Road Championships is just 10 days away!

Coming up on the 1st and 2nd of March at APO Ranch, Kempsey, rounds 1 and 2 of the much-awaited event will be held in conjunction with the opening rounds of the newly branded Australian Enduro Championships (AEC), with hosts Macleay Valley Enduro Riders gearing up for yet another excellent hosting opportunity.
The sprawling track last witnessed an Off-Road Championship event only last year, with rounds 5 & 6 of the 2024 NSW Off-Road Championship held last year in August.
More about the Macleay Valey Enduro Riders
Formed in March 2022, Macleay Valley Enduro Riders Inc (MVER) boast of having successfully hosted multiple social, development, and competitive events each year. Recent notable events held by the spirited club include the Transmoto 8-Hour Enduro event, which sold out with 500 registered riders in 2024 and expects higher participant numbers for this year’s event coming up on the 21st and 22nd of June.
MVER continues to set the standard for developing a sense of inclusion and contribution to the community by growing the sport with coaching and mentoring, as well as drawing a diverse blend of female and youth riders.
What to expect from APO Ranch as a venue?
The APO Ranch is a 440acre/178-hectare property specifically developed for off road motorcycle events. The competition will be held on purpose-built grass and dirt tracks through the natural terrain of hills, creeks and forest on the property. MVER continues to improve the venue to provide a sustainable venue for future events in the Macleay Valley, however progress is in line with funding and volunteer efforts.
The APO Ranch track offers a unique opportunity for spectators to view the riders competing across cleared open areas before heading into the technical elements of the tracks.
Race format and more
The Saturday event will be a cross-country full enduro event over a course of approximately 20 kms for a 3-hour duration. The Sunday event will see this course divided into 3 shorter tracks with sprint races conducted throughout the day in their respective classes, with the starts and finishes all being able to be viewed from the main venue arena.
It is expected that there will be 250-300 competitors entering the event in multiple categories, from factory-supported teams to privateers. Amongst these will be the nation’s best riders, some who have competed at the international level and represented Australia on the world stage with great success – including the current female champion enduro rider Jessica Gardiner and the current male champion rider Daniel Milner.
Entries to ride at the opening rounds of the event are currently open on RiderNet!
