MNSW, the MNSW Motocross Sports Committee and Macarthur Motorcycle Club would like to provide the following update in relation to the next round of the MX Store – King of MX Qualifier scheduled for May 7-8.
Like most of the east coast of NSW, wet weather has played havoc with numerous meets, events and ride days. Due to these same issues Macarthur Motorcycle Club have had to make the very difficult decision to withdraw from hosting the Round 5 King of MX Qualifier scheduled for May 7-8. Their venue is unrecoverable at this stage and still showing considerable damage, puddling and with further rain forecast the maintenance required is simply unachievable.
Understandably, this is a very upsetting situation given the planning and countless volunteers hours invested by the club members – this was not an easy decision for the Club, the Sports Committee or MNSW. We would like to thank the Macarthur Motorcycle Club for their extensive efforts and look forward to more favourable conditions occurring soon for all club and race activities.
The MNSW Motocross Sports Committee along with MNSW have investigated a number of alternatives to place this event in the same calendar window given the proximity to the State Final to be held in Wagga Wagga on June 11-13. As our community would appreciate it can be very difficult to achieve this considering the extensive efforts that need to be undertaken.
Fortunately, a solution has been identified and now confirmed with Maitland District Motorcycle Club scheduled on the same dates of May 7-8. Whilst Maitland were not originally scheduled to host a round, they were a club who did express interest to host in 2022.
We would like to thank the Maitland District Motorcycle Club for offering their venue and assistance to ensure that the final round could be provided to our community. We know the dedicated team of volunteers at Maitland District Motorcycle Club will have the complex in excellent condition and ready to race on Saturday 7th May and 8th May 2022.
We now encourage additional entries as there is only a few days left to enter, please jump online and submit your entries, as a number of classes are filling up and we don’t want anyone to miss out. A reminder, that this is the last chance to get a Golden Ticket to the Final in Wagga Wagga.
If you are unable attend due to this change of venue, please contact Maree Kirby Race Secretary on 0419 126 085 for assistance .
