2024 MNSW State Championship Tender Information

Motorcycling NSW would like to remind clubs that the tender process for Motorcycling NSW 2024 State Championship events closes this Sunday the 29th of October.

If your club wants to or is interested in hosting a State Championship event in 2024, we kindly ask that you please complete the tender process as per the instructions found in the relevant links below.

Join the MNSW Participation Sub-Committee

MNSW is seeking two key officials and two community members to join the Participation Sub-Committee.

The Participation Sub-Committee assists the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities relating to:

– Participation Planning, Strategy;
– Pathways Planning & Strategy
– Girl’s & Women’s Planning & Strategy
– Inclusion Planning & Strategy
– Officials/Coach Development & Engagement;
– Sports Committee Development & Engagement
– Participation-related workshops
– Perform any other duty or undertaking that the Board may request from time to time.

The Participation Sub-Committee will meet four times per year and this will likely be via video conference/teleconference.

2023 Motorcycling NSW Sports Committees

Motorcycling NSW is pleased to announce the 2023 Motorcycling NSW Sports Committees Members.

The Sports Committees play an integral role in the management and delivery of each discipline throughout the State. The Sports Committees make recommendations to the MNSW board on specific aspects of MNSW operations including the following; the conduct of various disciplines of motorcycle sport and recreation, whole of MNSW considerations including officials and coaching as well as any other purpose consistent with the MNSW objectives and MNSW principles.

Sports Committee positions have been appointed by the Board; these positions will serve 12-month tenure commencing August 1st, 2023.

Youth Advisory Council

Motorcycling NSW is pleased to announce the inaugural Motorcycling NSW Youth Advisory Council Members.

The Motorcycling NSW Youth Advisory Council (YAC) has been created by Motorcycling NSW to ensure Motorcycling NSW is member-focused and prioritises youth inclusion and participation throughout its strategy and operation. It is designed so that the Motorcycling NSW Board and Management are able to receive direct input from youth on issues of importance to them relating to Motorcycling in the most interactive and effective way possible. 

The YAC gives young people the opportunity for growth and personal development, whilst gaining an insight into Motorcycling NSW. It is also a way for Motorcycling NSW to ensure that young people can participate in discussions and decisions that affect them, are taken seriously, and can express their views on their participation in our sport.

Youth Advisory Council positions have been appointed by the Board; these positions will serve 12-month tenure starting from the 1st of November, 2022.

2022 NSW Speedway Solo Super Series – Media Release

NSW will take centre stage in 2022 with the NSW Speedway Sports Committee announcing the 2022 NSW Speedway Solo Super Series where junior and senior riders from across Australia will compete in one of the most entertaining forms of motorsport on the planet.

The ‘Super Series’ will be held over four rounds from May to August with the opening round scheduled for 14th May at Woodstock Park Speedway Cowra, followed by Oakburn Park Raceway Tamworth (18th June), Loxford Park Speedway Kurri Kurri ( TBC July) and the final round at Diamond Park Speedway in Albury on 6th August 2022.

Interim MNSW CEO, Lauren Werrin said “This series has been developed by the MNSW Speedway Sports committee with the aim to increase participation in the discipline and bring a speedway roadshow to regional NSW. It’s an opportunity to build and reinvigorate the sport after two turbulent years of COVID-19. It’s wonderful to see our Speedway Sports Committee being proactive in this space and I’m very excited to see the series opener in 2022”.

Classes for the NSW Speedway Solo Super Series will cover all age groups from the grassroots 50cc demonstration class through to 125cc and 250cc juniors and 500cc senior riders, who are embarking on the next step of their motorcycling career.

MNSW Sport Development Manager, Adam Brook said “This is a fantastic opportunity for Motorcycling NSW to focus on junior development, it allows our riders a pathway and platform to the national and international stage, and with 14 NSW speedway riders currently racing professionally overseas, it puts a spotlight on the talent we are producing in NSW”.   

The series will offer a tangible speedway product which will profile and build longevity of the discipline for many years to come. Opportunities for sponsorship and television coverage are available.

2021 Licence Extensions

No doubt you are just as excited as us to know that come the 1st of December, whether fully vaccinated
or not, you can be back on the tracks enjoying the sport you love the most and motorcycling as we
know it will be returning.

This is of course subject to the NSW restrictions at that point in time. Activity from the 1st December,
will look like the below:

  • Club activity can resume for all participants whether vaccinated or not.
  • No person limit for major recreation facilities (which motorcycle venues are classed as). However, a 1 person per 2sqm rule will apply.
  • Clubs will require an updated COVID safety plan.
  • Community sports permitted for all staff, spectators and participants.
  • Travel between Greater Sydney and Regional NSW permitted.

Considering the 2021 Community Sport restrictions and the impact that it has had on your ability to
participate in the sport you love, MNSW in consultation with Motorcycling Australia are pleased to
confirm an extension of active annual licenses for members affected by the 2021 Government
restrictions.

All eligible annual licenses active within the NSW lockdown will automatically receive a 3-
month extension. Members do not have to apply for the extension, it will be updated on your Ridernet
profile. Our developers are working hard to implement these extensions and shortly you will be able to
view your new licence with the updated expiry date through the Motorcycling Australia App or you can
purchase a replacement licence via your Ridernet profile.
